The Chocolate Story

The history of chocolate began in Mesoamerica. Fermented beverages made from chocolate date back to 450 BC.

The Mexicans believed that cacao seeds were the gift of Quetzalcoatl, the god of wisdom, and the seeds once had so much value that they were used as a form of currency.

Originally prepared only as a drink, chocolate was served as a bitter liquid, mixed with spices or corn puree.

Today it’s a dessert of choice and an expression of joy and love across all cultures and age groups.

Meet the Founders

Tarun and Shakti are the soul behind SS Brunette. The idea, in fact, incubated from their daughter Sanchita’s love for chocolate and her brown hairs!

Hence the name SS – Shakti & Sanchita - The Brunette ☺

Whereas Tarun is the dynamic and the passionate one with over 19 years of corporates sales experience at Kotak, ICICI Pru, JLL, Anarock and 360° realtors, Shakti has been a committed print media professional with an underlying passion for making chocolates.

They got married in 2007 but the love for chocolates remained confined to the household only. Come 2018, and they decided to take those delectable treats which they relished at home, to the masses. Thus, SS Brunette was born.

Having witnessed the biggest global crisis of the century at such a young age, SS Brunette is a brand tenderly build with affection by Tarun and Shakti and has held its head high with a client list .

It is already a household name in Greno West and aspires to go places in the years to come.

We are a young chocolate curating firm, founded with the specific purpose of bringing joy with fresh handcrafted chocolates. We take pride in defining ourselves as ‘Makers of Happiness.’

We have developed proprietary recipes using the highest quality cocoa (adhering to the Covid guidelines) that stems from 10+ years of our expertise in this craft.
